Dear PCHS Class of 1960 Classmates:

The Committee for the Class of ’60 50th class reunion met May 2, 2009 at Capt. Bob’s Restaurant in Hertford. Carlton Boyce, Brenda E. Brickhouse, Betty Brown, Lenna U. Mansfield, and Pat R. Alexander were present. Enthusiastically, the Committee went to work making decisions for our 50th reunion which will be coming up in 2010. Because we want this Reunion to be a special and memorable occasion, we chose to have it at The Pines Country Club in Elizabeth City. Betty checked out the details for “The Pines” and was able to reserve it for September 25, 2010. Lenna reserved the Newbold-White House for a reception on Friday, September 24. Also we want to have a breakfast/brunch on Sunday morning. With combined effort, Brenda and Pat put together the “Save the Date” card. We hope everyone will make every effort to “Save the Date” and make this golden reunion a huge success.

We’ll be using this website to communicate with class members providing information as we know it. Many of you expressed interest in working on this reunion so this is your chance. We would love to hear from you with any suggestions you might have or anything you would like to include in the program.

Please send your e-mail address, postal address and phone number to pchs1960@yahoo.com . We would also like for you to give us a biographical update on your life since year 2000. Be creative as you wish, send pictures and we’ll publish it for all to read on the blogsite. If you would like to send a donation to help with expenses, please write the check payable to “Class of 1960” and mail it to Carolyn W. Rennie at 208 Sunset Drive, Hertford, NC 27944.

We are looking forward to hearing from you soon. If you do not have computer access, we will mail the information to you when it is complete. You can mail your updated information to Pat Alexander at 933 Mt. Pleasant Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322.

INVITATION FROM THE CLASS OF 1959

As part of our Golden Anniversary week-end, we are planning an informal reception at the Newbold-White House on Harvey Point Road on Friday, September 25, 2009 from 7:00 - 10:00 PM. We would like to invite the Classes of ’57, ’58, ’60 & ’61 to join us for the evening. There will be hors d’oeuvres, sodas, beer, wine and a little 50’s and 60’s music. Some of us are planning to dress “fifty’s style” for fun, so if you would like to do the same, please do! A horse and buggy ride around the historic site, down to the river and back will be available if you are interested.

The cost of the evening will be $5.00 per person for these 4 classes, payable at the door. The only thing we need up front is a head count so we can be sure to have enough refreshments on hand.
